Percy and Peaches

A few years ago we rescued, Spayed and Neutered a group of semi feral cats that were displaced by a fire on Marble Point road. There were 52 total and of those 52 45 were female. We were able to find homes for ALL of these cats once fixed. Percy and Peaches were two of these adopted a couple of years ago. Received an update today from the wonderful understanding patient woman who gave them a home and to this day continues to work with them. Here is her testament to never giving up on the socialization of these cats who need time.. " Today marked a milestone in my household for one of my kitties, well two actually. Percy (the buff ginger) finally, after almost two years, slept on my lap for the first time. Understand that I can’t touch Percy, well, I can if he’s asleep and doesn’t realize what I’m doing until it’s too late, then he suffers through it. Today, not only did he lay on me and sleep, he let me give him oodles of loving too. His sister, Peaches also pictured, didn’t let me really touch her for almost 3 years - now I can’t get her off of my lap lol. Warmed my heart on a cold day . Love my fur babies. Never give up!’

Update on Axl and Rosie

Axl and Rosie (formerly Cyrus and Fraya) are two of Holly’s kittens that we adopted from FFL in June 2016. Axl runs our household and Rosie is happy to go along for the ride. They give us so much joy. Thank you on behalf of the precious kittens and cats you save with a chance for a life full of love, comfort and pampering. 💕

Maluk

Maluk came to us as a stray not neutered, full of fleas and with several wounds to his head. Now neutered. Wounds have healed. He  has also now been adopted!

Update on Louise and Ruth

We adopted Louise and Ruth (formerly Magoo and Nugget) in September 2018 at 14 weeks old. They were rescued by Fixed Furlife when their mother was found giving birth in a ditch. These two babies were the last of their litter when we saw them at Pet Valu in Trenton. We only meant to adopt one kitten but we could leave either of them behind! And we are so glad we took them both. They are so affectionate and crazy in their own ways and we just couldn’t imagine our lives without them! We are so thankful for your organization for bringing them into our lives 💕

Magoo

Magoo came to Fixed Fur Life with his sister Scarlet. Owner was no longer able to care for. He has been adopted with his sister Scarlet.

Update on Queenie

From Queenies owners "Queenie had been left behind in an apartment after the owners moved out. She was under weight and leery of other animals. FFL stepped in and she was adopted out a couple of months later."

Chloe

Very Happy to report that Miss Chloe has found a home. A perfect match for her. Chloe came to us as a stray with a limp. X Rays showed that she has an old elbow fracture that was left untreated and caused her to develop Arthritis. After she was Spayed and treated for the Arthritis she went up for adoption. It took many months but we were finally able to find her the perfect home for her.

Update On Wally and Henry

From Wally and Henry's Owners "This is Wally on the left and Henry on the right. In Feb 2012, we adopted "Walmart Wally", who had been abandoned and left in a box behind Walmart. In Nov 2012, we got a lil brother for him called Henry, from FFL, but we refer to him as Lil Guy....they have been great additions to our family."

Update on Shadow now Monty

Shadow came to us as a wee kitten found crying under a food truck. He has been adopted and we received this lovely update. ”Just wanted to share a few photos of Monty (formerly Shadow, but we loved the named Monty so much haha!). He has been settling in so well, purring so much and he loves snuggling now! He has been such an amazing addition to our home and we are just so happy and thankful for this opportunity! “

Update on Donald and Gordan

From Gizmo's Owner "This is Gizmo he is now 2, he was 6 weeks when I adopted him from pet valu belleville..he is such a lovable, playful and still chatty not so little guy anymore!!"

Update on Ronnie

Hi Darlene - another 'happy ending' from my friend Betty, regarding RONNIE, the gorgeous but sad fluffy tabby cat you mercifully rescued from a hoarding situation about 2 years ago. Betty fell in love with him at first sight and just had to adopt him, to give him the love and care that he hadn't received in his earlier life. Betty says....."I renamed him Giovanni because my husband's name is Ron too, and I didn't want confusion with two Ronnies running around the house! Plus, if you say 'Giovanni' with an Italian accent, it kind of sounds like 'Ronnie'! As expected, Giovanni was very nervous and skittish when he first came home to us, but, on his terms, we just let him do what made him feel comfortable and wanted. He eventually realized we were both OK! He was so easy to love and now likes to start his day with lots of petting and grooming. He has managed his disability well - even the stairs - and enjoys running and playing with toys, especially his mice - although he still sometimes topples over if he moves too fast! He's a gentle, loving boy - doesn't really bite or scratch. He's a very big boy too (we had to buy him a DOG bed!) - I think Giovanni perhaps had a Maine Coon Mom or Dad!! He has now been with us for just over a year now and our house is once again a home with our Gorgeous Giovanni living here with us. Thank you again Darlene for rescuing him - he's brought great joy to our lives and we hope we are doing the same for him. Betty "

OZ

From Oz's Owners "Oz is an approx. 9 year old beagle hound who was abandoned in the woods by hunters with 40+ others. A man in Eldorado, ON went and captured them all, and found each one a home. We found each other on December 10, 2010. 🌨 I dont think he knows hes a senior, everyone mistakes him for a puppy! He loves being outside and hitting the trails, whether it's a mountain, rock boulders, or a dirt path. Thanks to Fixed Fur Life, he was neutered and vaccinated at a low cost! 🤗"

Gary and Harriet

A lovely update for Gary and Harriet.. “Harriet formerly Calypso and Gary. Both had precarious starts to their lives. Harriet’s mom was killed by a predator and Gary wandered the streets for over a year with eyes so badly infected he was blinded in one of them. Well look at them now. Adopted at separate times into the same family they have clearly bonded. If not rescued Harriet would have been gearing up for her first litter of kittens out in this cold and I am pretty sure Gary would have succumbed to his infection. It truly makes my day to see how well everyone is doing..”
