Holly's owners put her and her siblings outside when they were very young. Their mother an un spayed female ran away. All of Holly's brothers and sisters were killed one by one on the road. Her owner then accidentally ran over her with his truck and despite her obvious injuries she was not taken for veterinary care. She was surrendered to FFL with her sister. Her sister was adopted out immediately after being spayed and Holly remained with us. Her first surgery was unsuccessful and she in the end had to have her leg amputated. She has since been spayed and is in a great home shown below. She has flourished into a beautiful girl!
Tim Bits Story Tim Bit came to FFL as a tiny kitten whose mother would not take care of him. Born with a badly deformed back foot and an abnormally big head. He was diagnosed with a condition called "Hydrocephalus", an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles of the brain, leading to their enlargement and swelling. Prognosis is usually poor for these poor little ones. For the first 2 weeks we had him he had to be fed with a syringe. Once he started eating on his own he progressed quickly and flourished. Although a little mentally challenged he has overcome all of his hurdles. Adopted to a very understanding family who are knowledgable re his disabilities he runs and plays with the other cats who have become very attached to him.
