Strut for Strays is an annual Walkathon and Pet Festival. It is a day filled with Pet activities to raise money to help the homeless and abandoned animals in our community. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your support. The day starts with a walkathon at West Zwicks and then a great time afterwards in the park with fellow animal lovers and their pets! This is your chance to DIRECTLY affect the animals in your community.
                                            The more money we raise the more animals we are able to help!

• You do not have to have a dog to walk. You can walk on behalf of the strays in our community
   

• Walk in memory of a Pet

• There is a short walk route for those who are senior or cannot walk the entire route.
   

• If you are busy that day then consider collecting pledges and doing the walk on another day. A map will be provided.

• There will be 10 Grand prizes awarded this year to the top 10 pledge collectors! (One is a 32 inch Flat screen TV - Other prizes to be announced)

• If you do not want to participate in the walk then consider joining us for the day at West Zwicks Island. (Base of the Bay Bridge - Under the Red Roofed Pavillion).

Walk Route: A beautiful scenic route along the trail by the water at West Zwicks. A map will be provided on the day of the walk. The walk is geared towards each individuals preference! You may choose the short 1 km route for Seniors or the 2.5 or 5 km route. The choice is your!

What: Walkathon and Pet Waterfront Festival. This is a great day for animal lovers and their pets. If you cannot bring your pet then come on out, pull up a lawn chair and support the abandoned animals in our community. 100% of proceeds will be used to spay and neuter and re-home abandoned and homeless animals.

When: Saturday, June 12, 2010  ***Registration begins at 10 am. Once you have registered you may begin the walk

Registration Time: Will commence at 10:00 am. You may wait until the day of registration
to turn in your pledge money.

Registration Fee: We are asking for an $8.00 early bird ( If you register before May 15, 2009) or $10.00 on the day of event registration fee. Each walker will receive the following with their registration fee. 

• A bottle of water

• A bandana for their dog

• A restaurant coupon

• A free grab bag (Cat or Dog) for your pet loaded with T-R-E-A-T-S!-Your grab bag ticket will also be entered into a prize draw designated only for registered walkers. Cat and dog treat bags are available.

                                                                              
Parking: Parking at West Zwicks is provided.

Once the walk is complete there will be a fun filled day for pet lovers back at Zwicks. Everyone is invited. Many activities have been planned. There will be a number of canine games and competitions. You may register your pet for the competitions when you arrive in the am. Each competition will cost $3.00 to enter per pet. Each winner will be the recipient of a great prize for Pet and human. The following are some of the contests and events scheduled:
